Dmitro Facades delivered a four-week cladding package for T&B Contractors at Hawes Down Centre, Hawes Lane, West Wickham. Bromley Council developed the building as a co-located base for its Youth Service, Extended School Services and Specialist Support and Disability Service, and the multicoloured flat panels, mechanically face-fixed with expressed joints, gave the existing low-rise building a clear public identity.

History

From Hawes Down Centre to Riverside School.

Hawes Down Centre supported specialist community services, inclusive youth activities, family support and short-break provision for disabled children, young people and their families. Bromley Council registered its Outreach Service for children with disabilities at the centre from May 2012.

In 2020, Bromley Council expanded Riverside School onto the Hawes Down Centre site. Riverside is a community special school for pupils with severe and complex learning needs; the West Wickham campus increased the school's planned capacity from 259 to 319 pupils, adding 60 places together with specialist sensory and soft-play facilities. Riverside West Wickham opened at Hawes Down Centre during the 2020-21 academic year.

The building continues to support early years provision through Rainbow Day Nursery, alongside its role as Riverside School's West Wickham campus.
